August 2012 – completion Rooftop farm
The rooftop farm, which is called ‘The DakAkker’ in Dutch, is the first harvestable rooftop in Europe. The Rotterdam Milieucentrum (Environmental Centre Rotterdam) and volunteers are responsible for the maintenance of the roof. Local restaturants are regular customers. The roof pavilion functions on cultural, economic and social grounds.
